Some women tend to have a period, or two, after they get pregnant. It is generally lighter than a regular period but not always. We usually see this in women with either low blood pressure or else those who lean toward being anemic.
Bleeding during pregnancy is never a natural or positive thing. We should always do what we can to stop bleeding while pregnant. Eating spinach or beets might be a good start. If you are pale (or lighter), for your nationality, then you may was to look at a slow release iron (ferrous sulfate). It should help with the bleeding, give more energy and make one feel more mentally alert. Note: If you have high blood pressusre then it would be a good idea to talk to your care provider before taking iron.
Bleeding later on in the pregancy could be tracked back to infection, potential miscarriage or pre term labor. Never chalk it up to 'being normal'. Check into it and do your part to take care of your pregnancy and make your health stronger.
